Kade's New Adventures!!

When Kade came home from the NICU two months ago I was serious about disinfecting everything he might possibly come in contact with,... and when I say serious I mean obsessed! I got my Clorox out and wiped down every door knob (doors, cabinets, cars), phones, t.v. remotes and even the mailbox! After that, I took my professional size Lysol spray and sprayed every nook and cranny of our house. At that point I felt strangely floatatious (no that is not a word) from the fumes so I took a break. After my break I washed EVERY item of baby clothing, blankets, washable toys... EVERYTHING! I was so scared of my fragile little angel getting sick and having to go back to the hospital! We had weekly check-ups with the doctor and Kade even had the RSV shots to ward off the evil viruses that can easily turn fatal... Kade was TOTALLY covered, or so I thought!

Kade was admitted back into the hospital today. He has a bronchial respiratory infection. He is having a hard time breathing and won't eat. He has had such a hard life so far, but I have to say he is still such a good baby! I look at him and feel like we have an angel in our mist because he is just so sweet. I know he is in good hands and that we will all recover from this,... before we know it Kade will be on the high school football team!

In other news, Haylin has her first dance recital on May 20th (hopefully things will have calmed down and we will be there) and she has been practicing non-stop, seriously non-stop, ya non-stop, she does not stop... We love her SOOO much!

I can't believe I just updated our blog. (you too uh?)

The Parable of Halloween

Oh the joys of Halloween.. What a great time we had… I tried to use the night as an opportunity to teach Haylin about the blessings of a capitalist county that we live in. And how trick or treating is a lot like entrepreneurship, that is, if you go out and work long enough and hard enough and look for the best parts of the neighborhood you can fill your basket full of all kinds of goodies and treats!

So we went out early for our first round and hit up our side of the neighborhood “testing the market”.
Then we came home and emptied are candy in the bank . (the pantry)

After that we got geared up again and went out to the other side working tell about 9 pm!
With a full basket we journeyed back home with mom carrying the heavy pumpkin basket full of treats.
We got back to the living room and emptied it out again.

She was so excited to see it all on the ground she was nice enough to share some with Tash and I.

After we got it all put back I went on to explain how if Obama won the election that she would have to “spread the wealth” and give her candy to the other kids on the street that stayed home and never went out to trick or treat because it was “to cold” or it was “raining” or they were too “tired” and how unfair that would be and that we call that “socialism” she just gave me a blank stare and didn’t have a clue what I was talking about . (kind of like 60% of the country )

Then I talked about the power of sharing and explained that when we are blessed to go out and trick or treat we need to look for other kids that couldn’t go because of reason’s that they could not get around like if they were sick or hurt and we can share our candy with them just like Heavenly Father would want us to do.

I never thought I would learn so much from a silly holiday like Halloween

P.S. next year if Halloween is going to be as “scary” as I think its going to be Haylin and I will dress up as an Auditor from the K.G.B. oopps I meant I.R.S

HALLOWEEN FUN!

TRICK -OR - TREAT

Here are a few pics of Dr. Robins. We had fun trick-or-treating with the rest of the neighborhood, we really feel fortunate to live in such a great place. We walked pretty far and I was surprised to see how energized Haylin was to walk up to each door and say "tick a teet"! The last couple of houses however she would get her candy and just stand there and stare, it was like her body was falling asleep and her mind kept telling her "mo cany! mo cany!" Anyway it was fun!

Other than Halloween we have just been looking forward to the holidays! I especially seem to be getting more and more hungry... for Turkey, Christmas ham, sweet potatoes.... wow I shouldn't get started it only makes the cravings stronger!!!
